Good morning, my friends! Here’s a spoiler for you (from a story that shall remain mine to know and yours to find out). <grin>
She wanted to rub her eyes, but she was too weak to lift her arms. There was no need to open her eyes, darn it. She knew there was someone in the room. The sound of his breathing filled the quiet. Irritation prickled, filling her awareness.
The Someone chuckled, a rich, masculine sound.
“Go away,” she muttered. Then her eyes pulled painfully, crustily open as she heard the foreign words spill out of her mouth. Where did that come from??? What language was she speaking? How could she understand it?
Her eyes burned. She blinked away the pain, and the world went from blurry to edged. A man’s face hung above her. She focused on it. Dark. Handsome. Smiling at her with relieved joy. Intense concern in eyes of molten mahogany. Her interest sparked, then died away. She was a married woman, and this man was far too young for her anyway.
