Farryn’s War just won’t leave my mind. Now, in addition to scenes of The Fall constantly playing through my mind, so do potential scenes of Farryn’s War. The other day I gave up and wrote out part of one such scene that I had to get out of my head.
Oh man. That just fed the beast. Now it wants more. Scenes, lines, plots, too much crowds my head. Farryn — you’ll find out who he is when you read The Fall — is just too much fun to write. I’ve added Farryn’s War to the box at the right, starting at 1,643. Its word count will go up when that of The Fall doesn’t, like it isn’t right now, because my husband is reading it over for plot and continuity. I don’t mind bouncing back and forth between the two novels. They feed each other.
Apologies in advance to those who don’t like my less savory characters. They are, unfortunately for those who don’t like them, way more fun to write than my heroes and heroines. I like the bad guys. Into Tolari Space got a negative review because the first story was about Smithton and Addie, but dang, Addie is fun to write. She’s just so nasty, but she is the way she is for very good reasons, which you might find out some day. A good guy can get waxed — like Admiral Howard, who really was a good guy, by the way — and it’s sad. (So is Smitty, and so, in his way, is Lord Wallingsby.) But the bad guys, they get to live, so I can keep writing about them. Mua haha.
