A Week at the Races

I seem to have neglected my blog again. Not because I forget about it — I don’t — but because I’ve been so focused on writing book 3 of the Tales of Tolari Space that I just didn’t have any creative energy left over to write much of anything else. Seriously, it taxed me just to come up with a daily status for my author page (which automatically gets tweeted).

But! After one last frenzied week of writing, book 3 is finally in a place that feels good to me. The part I had skipped over is written, and I’ve gone on to start revising the second half of the book in the light of all the changes and additions I made to the first half. It’s still a lot of work to do; I’ll be adding scenes, rewriting chapters, and the like, but a huge load has dropped from my shoulders. I can breathe again, and the edgy sense of “this will never be done!” is gone.

Today I’m going to focus on rewriting a chapter from a different character’s point of view and see if that makes the chapter better. This should be fun.
