Keeping my editing teeth off The Marann has become a bit of a challenge, so while I let it simmer down a little, I’ve been working on <drum roll please> book four.
Book two, tentatively titled Daughters of Suralia, is in four pieces all over my hard drive. I have a decision to make about that one. It’s really four novelettes/novellas that need to be stitched together at the edges. Or, I could leave them as is, and have a four-part novel. Either way, it will need a couple rounds of edits before it’s ready for my beta readers.
Book three, working title The Fall, is half written. As in, the second half is written. My husband says it’s the best one yet, which feels really good to hear, because it kind of seems that way to me, too. The first half of the book, on the other hand, just isn’t coming to me. I know what needs to take place, but it’s just not materializing.
Book four has 10k words worth of bits and scenes written. I have a general idea of where it starts, where it goes, and where it needs to end. I’m having trouble getting into the main character’s head. I might just need to write it from everybody’s POV except hers. That might just be an interesting challenge. I’m really liking one of the other characters better. Maybe that’s my problem…
Write, write, write!
