I’ve been a little quiet lately. That’s because in the shower one morning recently, I discovered a lump. Since my mother died of breast cancer, I proceeded to completely freak out.
After a week of diagnostic testing, my doctors have decided the lump is “probably benign.” I am heaving a somewhat guarded sigh of relief, since I still have to keep an eye on the thing to make sure it doesn’t grow.
The stress reduction is enough to unblock my creative juices again. I’m still rattled, but I’m working. Here are the current projects:
Daughters of Suralia
This will probably be the next published.
Shipwrecked (working title)
When Alexia got thrown into that escape pod, she had no idea what was in store for her. Possibly YA, possibly not, will be straight space opera (no romance).
The Fall (working title)
[name deleted] finds a new life in Parania.
Book 4 (no title yet)
The Brial causes trouble for the mother of the Paran’s heir.
The Impossible Planet
New series! The scout ship Dactyl falls into an alternate universe with a mind of its own. Straight space opera (no romance).
Dear God, I have way too many irons in the fire. No more new projects until I publish at least two of the above. This I vow!
I know how you feel. I had a similar scare this summer. It turned out benign, but those weeks of tests and worry…it's beyond horrible. I hope everything goes well for you. I can't wait to read Daughters of Suralia. The Marann is a wonderful novel!
